Mike Tocydlowski, director of 金融援助, was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Goldey-Beacom College, a master’s degree in higher education from Drexel University and all but dissertation for his doctorate in education from Northeastern University. Mike’s academic research focuses on the impacts and methods of increasing financial support to underserved student populations. Mike started his higher education career at his alma mater and hasn’t looked back. He has spent the past 15+ years working in admissions, 金融援助, 学术顾问, and registrar’s offices. 在他空闲的时候, Mike enjoys spending time outdoors with his husband and dog, 旅行, and spending as much time possible at the beach.

Nancy Medina, Associate Director of 金融援助

老南希·梅迪纳. associate director of 金融援助, was born and raised in Bell Gardens, California and graduated from Bell Gardens High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Occidental College. While a student at Occidental, Nancy was a work-study student in both the 入学 and 金融援助 offices. 毕业后, Nancy obtained a job as a 金融援助 Counselor at Occidental and worked there for eight years before coming to Pitzer. Nancy’s tasks include managing the Cal Grant program, overseeing the office’s software system, reviewing aid eligibility, and counseling students and their families. Nancy is also fluent in Spanish and is available to counsel Spanish-speaking families. 不工作的时候, Nancy stays busy by caring for her son and her two cats. They are all a handful!

凯瑟琳·阿科斯塔

凯瑟琳·阿科斯塔, assistant director of 金融援助, was born and raised in Sanger, California and graduated from Sanger High School. She is a Pitzer alumna and earned a combined degree in Organizational Studies and Sociology. While a student at Pitzer, Catherine worked as a student assistant in both the Office of 入学 and the Office of Student Affairs. Catherine’s day-to-day tasks include managing outside scholarships, processing educational loans and meeting with students and their families to discuss how to finance an education at Pitzer College. In addition, Catherine oversees the Federal 勤工助学 Program. 不工作的时候, Catherine enjoys reading, baking and spending time with her family (especially her nieces).

Carla Valdez, 金融援助 specialist, was born and raised in Southern California. 毕业后 from Henry J. 凯撒高中, she attended Chaffey Community College and later transferred to Cal State San Bernardino where she earned her degree in Communication Studies. During her time at Cal State San Bernardino, Carla spent a semester abroad in South Korea. 毕业后 in 2016, she was eager to work in the world of higher education and was thrilled to find an opportunity to do so at Pitzer. 在她空闲的时候, Carla loves playing basketball, planning road trips with her family and hanging out with friends.

Carina Salgado, 金融援助 Counselor, was born and raised in Pomona, California. She graduated from Montclair High School, attended Mt. 囊, and transferred to Cal Poly Pomona, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. During her time at Cal Poly Pomona, she worked as a Learning Strategist for EOP, which sparked her interest in the higher education workforce. Carina’s tasks include managing the Cal Grant program, 勤工助学, 文件审查, and counseling students/parents. 在她空闲的时候, Carina likes to travel, journal, thrift, and upcycle clothes.
